“Huggie Bears Family Childcare is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff, parents, carers and visitors to share this commitment.”
At Huggie Bears Family Childcare, the health, development, safety, welfare and well-being of every child are our paramount concern. Our aim is for children to enjoy their time whilst in attendance at Huggie Bears Family Childcare and are committed to providing a caring learning environment. We want to work in partnership with you to help your child achieve their full potential and make a positive contribution.
Everyone has a responsibility to adhere to all aspects of our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and Procedures and to foster an open culture in which ongoing vigilance is paramount. We are fully committed to ensuring that consistent effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support families, children and staff at the setting.
A safe and secure environment gives a child the best chance to develop and maximise their chances of having a happy, healthy and successful life. At Huggie Bears Family Childcare, we strongly support policy and procedures that protect the health and happiness of children and invest in their futures to ensure their wellbeing. To promote a safe environment for children, all adults are vetted, including criminal record checks, in accordance with current legislation.
In accordance with our responsibilities under the Early Years Foundation Stage (2017), we have a Designated Safeguarding Lead (Geraldine Kennefick) who is responsible for safeguarding and child protection at Huggie Bears Family Childcare and has received appropriate training for this role which is up-dated regularly.
There are occasions that our concern about a child may mean that we have to consult other agencies. Whilst we would always aim to work in partnership with parents, there may be exceptions to this when concerns are raised for the protection of a child.
The procedures, which we follow, have been laid down by the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board, and Huggie Bears Family Childcare has adopted a Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and Procedures in line with this for the safety of all. If you want to know more about our procedures, please speak to the our Designated Safeguarding Lead. Whilst, our child protection and safeguarding policies can be found on the parent portal of our website as well as are available to view at the setting.
